Enigma at UCLA

The Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Gaming Club at UCLA

Enigma includes everyone from undergrads to graduate students and alumni, encompassing every department from both South Campus and North Campus. If you're interested in science fiction or fantasy (whether books, art, or film), or gaming (video games, card games, board games, roleplaying games, etc.), even just a bit, you're always welcome with us.

All Enigma meetings on UCLA's campus are open to the public and are free of charge. There is no formal membership, so drop by any time! Students, staff, faculty, and local community members are all welcome.

Book Club

  • Book club's next meeting is set to be Saturday, June 8. The book will be Red Rising by Pierce Brown. If you’re interested, contact Grace or check the book club Facebook group for more details!

  • Maxicon is Enigma’s annual convention, hosted by alumni over Memorial Day weekend. If you’re at all interested in spending that weekend playing board games, RPGs, and a huge variety of other games with other Enigmans, check out the Maxicon website for more information.

One-Shot Night

  • We’re trying something different this quarter with not one, but two One-Shot Nights! Each of these is a chance to introduce people to tabletop RPGs (D&D, Pathfinder, etc.), whether in general or to a new system, and we’re looking for GMs. If you’re interested in GMing for the second event (week 9), let Hayden know!

Beach Day

  • For this quarter’s social event, Enigma is heading to Santa Monica! The event is planned for Saturday, June 1 - a Facebook event should be up soon. As always, if you need a ride we’ll have drivers!
